Hi there! I’m Katherine, but you can also call me Kat. I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate and the founder of Prism Counselling. Building a team of diverse mental health professionals has always been the dream, and I still have to pinch myself when I think about the wealth of experienced, passionate therapists I am lucky enough to be surrounded by.
As the team continues to grow and my responsibilities do too, I’d say I’ve become a therapist on more of a part-time basis. Nonetheless, creating meaningful relationships with my clients is by far my favourite part of the job. I love that everyone has a unique story. Being trusted to support people write out their future chapters all while making sense of the previous ones is something I can’t quite put into words. I learn from my clients just as much as they learn from me – definitely more, actually! Collaboration makes room for so many doors to open and so much perspective to be had. I love it.
Prior to finishing my Master’s, I have worked in the field of mental health in various capacities for about six years now, both in the private and public sectors. My scope of practice is always evolving as I gain education and experience, but my primary areas of interest at this time are: helping clients regain a zest for life, relationship and intimacy issues, stressful life changes such as parenthood or tragedy, and career counselling.
Hello! I was born & raised in México City. In 2010, I Ieft my home city to embrace a new life in the USA. I lived in Florida for 12 years where I worked hard, and formed a beautiful family. I worked as a waitress and I did love my job; but since I always have liked to take challenges, I took a casual job as an office assistant at a start-up company. I quickly transitioned into a full-time job and the right-hand of the owner.
In 2021, a new opportunity knocked on my door, so I left my comfort zone and moved to PEI, Canada. There, I took a diploma and worked as a server part-time. After graduation, I realized I needed to move to a bigger city to find better job opportunities. In the summer of '22, I visited Fredericton and immediately fell in love. I knew it was going to be the perfect place to raise my family. I consider myself an easy-going person, however, I am an organized perfectionist. I think my flaw may be my greatest strength, because it has made me a reliable professional. In my free time I enjoy going to the movies with my daughters, travel and cooking.

Whether coming to counselling is a new step for you or if you have previous experience, I am honoured to join you on your path. I value getting to know you and the unique factors that shape you, your preferences, and your circumstances, while collaborating in a supportive, non-judgmental, and safe space. I believe, with the right fit, everyone can benefit from counselling, whether for existing challenges or as part of your ongoing self-care routine. Life is hard; we don’t have to navigate it alone! Independence and seeking support can exist together.
When it comes to an approach, I like to find a balance between identifying your strengths and honouring and addressing the challenges that brought you here. But, ultimately, we will find what works and doesn’t work for you.
Hello! My name is Tara and I’m a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate at Prism Counselling. The path to improved mental health and happiness is unique to each individual. Wherever you may be on this path, I offer a safe and accepting space in which you can feel understood and supported. Together, we can explore your issues and create a plan that works best for you.
I take an integrative approach to counselling, acknowledging that you are the expert of your own life and that no two people or problems are the same. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, trauma, relationships and communication, and substance abuse. I consider it a privilege to support people in navigating and overcoming difficult life experiences, and will do my best to support you in your journey towards growth.
Hello! I’m glad you’re here seeking support and recovery from the challenges of life. Taking this important first step means you’ve already begun the journey toward a better future. I would love to be a part of this process with you, getting to know your unique history, personality, preferences, and style. As a counsellor with extensive experience working with people who have been through severe trauma and everything this leads to, please know that you will not be judged, that you’re not alone, and that progress is possible. Nothing is too big or too insignificant to be addressed.
Along with trauma and PTSD, my areas of focus also include dissociative disorders, depression, bipolar, anxiety, OCD, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and substance abuse. If you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts, let’s talk in confidence and make a good plan. My approach varies depending on the person and situation at hand, and I enjoy working with individuals and couples from approximately age 8 to 100.
Hello everyone! My name is Lyne and I am a Registered Social Worker and Clinical Counsellor at Prism Counselling. Asking for help can be such a difficult thing to do and I am honoured to be part of that process for anyone who gives me the privilege. Each person’s story is important and valid. My passion for helping people drives my work, dedication, and empathy.
I have worked in the field of mental health in some capacity for over a decade and continue to learn every day. I have experience with both children and adults with severe trauma and mental health disorders, including but not limited to: OCD, BPD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I also provide play therapy for young children, including games, for those who do not enjoy face-to-face conversation alone. My work with children is driven by my personal experiences. I want children to feel heard, understood and supported. I have always known I was meant to do this work and am determined to make a difference by offering a safe space for those who need it.
I meet people where they are at. This is not my journey, it is yours. I am here to guide you, provide support, and help you work on yourself in whatever way works for you. Everyone is welcome without judgement or pressure, and we work together to better each individual situation.
“We will either find a way, or make one”

Hello! I am excited to be joining the Prism team in offering inclusive services to support mental health and well-being. My main objective is to establish a connection with my clients and provide them with a safe space to work towards achieving their goals. My unique combination of education and experience has provided me with a skillset to support individuals and families, specifically targeting anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, anger management, and social-emotional learning. My interests and skillset include working with adults and youth, as well as individuals who identify as neurodivergent (including ADHD, ASD, and ODD). I favor a CBT and Emotion-Focused approach to therapy while collaborating with clients in selecting a therapeutic approach that works well for them.
I value the therapeutic relationship and meeting clients where they’re at to make the counselling experience both positive and productive. I hope to come alongside my clients to support their journey towards fostering mental health, resiliency, and well-being.
Hello! I’m Michelle (business name: Starbright Mind) and I am a Certified Hypnotherapist. After being both a practitioner and client of hypnotherapy, I have absolutely fallen in love with the modality. And with each new client I see, I appreciate the practice even more!
Hypnotherapy offers a unique experience of connecting with ourselves from a different perspective. It allows us to comfortably and fearlessly uncover and release the underlying beliefs that perpetuate an issue, freeing us from the issue altogether (whether it be physical, mental, emotional, interpersonal etc.). Once we are liberated from our limiting beliefs, we can then wire our mind for new, better beliefs and create powerful change.
Wherever you feel stuck, whatever your issue may be, I am here to help you connect and communicate with the unconscious parts of you, so your mind and body are 100% in alignment with what you want to achieve.
We work on one issue per session and significant shifts generally occur after 1-3 sessions. You can book a free consultation to chat with me about your issue(s), ask questions, and see if hypnotherapy is right for you: www.starbrightmind.com/consultation
Hi there! I am Vanessa Langille, a mental health Dietitian and owner of Langille Nutrition. I help people optimize their mental health through nutrition. Improving your eating habits can help increase energy, boost mood, and enhance mental clarity. You don’t have to be diagnosed with a mental illness to reap the benefits of a healthy eating pattern.
My philosophy is that all foods fit. When you work with me, we focus on what you can add to your diet. The goal is to nourish your brain and body so it can run efficiently. Food does not need to be an extra stressor in your life, let me help! Some areas I can help with:
- What to eat to support your mental health, meal and snack ideas for tough times, regulating your appetite, cravings, support and guidance in making changes, managing gut health symptoms, eating strategies to keep you energized throughout the day, creating a better relationship with food, and more!
The reality is, if you are not fueling your body properly – it will not run efficiently. Nutrition is an important tool to have in your mental health toolbox and it can be tough to navigate on your own.
Let me help you out. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or to see if we might be a good fit!
